About me: 

Greetings! I am a research fellow in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, University of Pittsburgh, working with Prof Nematollah (Kayhan) Batmanghelich. I hold a joint position in the Department of Philosophy, Carnegie Mellon University, working with Prof Kun Zhang .

I was a PhD student at University of Technology Sydney (2012 - 2017), supervised by Prof Dacheng Tao and co-supervised by Prof Kun Zhang. I received the B.S. Degree in electrical engineering from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China, and the M.S. Degree in communications and information system from Huazhong Unviersity of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2009 and 2012, respectively.

From 03/2013 - 10/2013, I was a research intern at the Empirical Inference Department of Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, supervised by Dr Kun Zhang. From 09/2010 - 01/2011, I was an exchange student at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, supervised by Prof Marius Pedersen.

My current research interests include causal inference, machine learning, and computer vision.


News: 

  • 06/2017, our paper entitled Causal Discovery from Temporally Aggregated Time Series has been accepted to the 33rd Conference on Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence (UAI 2017).
  • 04/2017, I started working at University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University as a research fellow.
  • 03/2017, I submitted my PhD thesis.
  • 04/2016, our paper entitled Domain Adaptation with Conditional Transferable Components has been accepted to the 33rd International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML 2016).
